Microsoft has relased Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 to syncronize Window Mobile Devices with their lastest and loved operating system, Windows Vista.
Between its improvements a new enhanced support for Windows Mobile 6 is listed, a nice addition is IRM support to open protected documents, HTML Email support, WM6 sincronization with smartphones with touchscreen or query keyboard, and a automatic device detection that doesnt work as we wished but in most of the attempts we made, worked fine.
Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 is also compatible with legacy PDA Microsoft Operating system like Windows Mobile 2003 or Pocket PC.
If we compare WMDC 6.1 with the version included on vista, it really stand infront due to its improvement but that doesnt necesary means that its a perfect application, the first WMDC never worked as it should and 6.1 still suffers some compatibility issues with windows mobile 6, thats unacceptable since both softwares were released by the same developer.
If we compare WMDC 6.1 with Activesync, it really outperforms its predecessor not only in features but in simplicity, unfortunatelly vista performance makes the application slow on some heavy duties.
